Americas

Americas

The Americas span from the Arctic to the Antarctic, two continents connected by a narrow strip of land and separated by everything else. North America has the United States and Canada. Vast, car-dependent, and home to some of the most spectacular natural landscapes on the planet. Central America has ruins, volcanoes, and Caribbean coastlines. South America has the Amazon, the Andes, Patagonia, and cities that make European nightlife look like a warm-up act.

For now, this section covers the United States and specifically Florida, the only part of the Americas I've visited so far. But the continent is on the list. The road trip culture of the US, the national parks, the food diversity, the sheer scale of the landscape. There's a lifetime of travel here. And South America, from Colombia to Argentina, is one of the most compelling travel regions in the world for anyone willing to go beyond the obvious.

Costs range from budget-friendly (Central America, parts of South America) to genuinely expensive (the US, Canada, Patagonia). The Americas reward bold itineraries, long trips, and a willingness to cover serious distance.
